Annual Spring Fundraising Celebration |

This year, 2025, Only A Child will not be hosting its annual spring fundraiser.
Due to a medical emergency in Guatemala, our Board of Directors has decided to not hold this year's event. The decision was a difficult but unavoidable one. Rigoberto, who with his wife Sandra live in Only A Child's group home with our youths, recently developed a serious eye infection. The infection rendered the eye sightless, while endangering its future. As a consequence, Rigoberto was left bed ridden and incapacitated. Rigoberto's primary responsibilities involve maintaining the shelter's proper function and stability while ensuring the well-being and safety of its residents. Given his current inability to do so, George Leger, Only A Child's founder and Executive Director, felt it would be irresponsible, if not dangerous, for him to leave Guatemala at this time. The Board of Directors concurred, leading to the decision to forego hosting this year's event, which had been scheduled for April 6. The money raised from the fundraiser provides for 10 to 15% of our annual operating budget, so the loss of revenue will be significant. Therefore, we ask that you support Only A Child at this time, to help offset the loss of income resulting from the need to suspend the event. Token tickets can still be purchased, even though we will not be gathering this year.
